4 days to New Year 2011!
It is 4 days to New Year 2011! I am excited to embrace and face the year 2011. Year 2011 will be totally different to me as I am going to welcome our baby boy on around February or March. It will be different from the past years, as I become a mom for the first time. I am excited and at the same I feel nervous. Before this year ends, we want to give him a name. I hope we could come up with a very nice name. This baby is so precious to me and I am very thankful and grateful to God for this wonderful blessing.
Happy Halloween

It’s Halloween. Happy Halloween everyone! It’s trick or treating time. I went to google home page and I noticed their logo has changed. It is kinda cute, though. Are you ready for trick or treating? Candies here and there! Last year, we went for trick or treating and had lots of candies. I don’t know if we would be able to do that today since my husband is very busy and he is going to work late and on my case, I am pregnant. I really don’t want to take a long walk non-stop. I don’t want to be exhausted tomorrow because I have doctor’s appointment. Anyhow, I think trick or treating is fun. I’d like to have more candies though. It is thrill! We’ll see if we could go or not later.
What is FPIES?
What is FPIES? Studies found out that rice can cause a form of gut inflammation in some infants. This is called, food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome or FPIES. It is an inflammatory reaction of the digestive system to certain food proteins such as cow’s milk, soy, meat and grains. Infants with this syndrome will suffer vomiting and diarrhea within roughly 2 hours of eating those food proteins. Australian researchers found that over 16 years, 14 children came to their hospital with FPIES. Rice remains a hypoallergenic food and it is first recommended as the first solid for infants. Be aware of this syndrome.

August, the 8th month of the year
Why August is the 8th month of the year? I was just wondering how people came up with Month names. Let’s start with August. It is the 8th month of the Gregorian calendar. In Astrology, August begins with the sun in the sign of Leo and ends in the sign of Virgo. This month was originally named “Sextilis” in Latin because it was in the first place, the sixth month in the ancient Roman calendar in which started with March. Then it later became the eighth month when January and February were added to the beginning of the year. August was renamed in honor of Augustus. Actually, August originally had 29 days in the Roman calendar. Augustus took two days from February and added it to August when Sextilis was renamed in his honor
The Vegetable Orchestra
I was really amazed on how they came up with this. They made such beautiful music that sounds like techno. You can dance with it. The vegetable orchestra was founded In Vienna in 1998. The orchestra has 10 musicians, one cook, and one sound technician. It uses musical instruments made out of vegetables. Watch this video!
