Earthquake hit the east coast today

I was kind of scared to hear the news about the earthquake that hit the east coast today. The quake was about 5 something magnitude. I remember last year when a strong quake hit in the Southern California on Easter Day. I was in the front of the computer at that time and I noticed our house was shaking so I looked up outside and I saw parked cars rolling back and forth. So, I immediately told my husband about the quake as I hurriedly went outside for safety. While I was on the ground, I prayed to God that it would stop. It felt like forever. The quake lasted for about almost a minute. That was the longest earthquake I’ve ever experienced.

How to reduce calories in diet

There are ways to reduce calories. Take these steps to losing weight. First, include more vegetables in your diet. I really love vegetables and they more tasty than meat. Vegetables can be boring sometimes but you’ll get used to it. When you eat more raw vegetables, the fewer calories you’ll get. Second, avoid snacks in between meals, especially junk foods. When you eat junk foods be sure to read the Nutritional facts– avoid high saturated fats, sodium and cholesterol. Those are bad for you. It is funny how my husband always says that those are “junk, crap and garbage”. Third, dairy products– always look for low fat and non-fat ones and as much as possible, get the organic kind.

Being a mom

I just found out that one of my online friends gave birth to a baby girl last Saturday. I am really happy for her as everything went fine. I just sent a message through Facebook.  She still feels weak and trying to recuperate from epidural headaches. Giving birth is risky. Mothers risk their lives for their kids. I consider mothers as heroes. I am not being biased since I am a mom. But considering what I had been throughout the pregnancy and labor. And now, I am taking care of my baby like 24 hours. Being a mother is not that easy. It is very challenging but it’s really worth it.

Today is the 2st day of August. Why August is the 8th month of the year? It is the 8th month of the Gregorian calendar. In Astrology, August begins with the sun in the sign of Leo and ends in the sign of Virgo. This month was originally named “Sextilis” in Latin because it was in the first place, the sixth month in the ancient Roman calendar in which started with March. Then it later became the eighth month when January and February were added to the beginning of the year. August was renamed in honor of Augustus. Actually, August originally had 29 days in the Roman calendar. Augustus took two days from February and added it to August when Sextilis was renamed in his honor.

I really want to buy a house someday. I want a bigger place where we have an entertainment room, office, gym and a huge kitchen. I think my favorite place at home is the kitchen. I love cooking and enjoy doing it. How about you? What’s your favorite place in the house? Me and my husband are planning on checking some houses out of the state. We live here in California and the real estate is still expensive though it has gone down. We are thinking of buying a house in Oregon or Idaho. Hopefully, when the right time comes we’ll find our dream house

I was surprised to know that there are still many XP users. I never liked Windows Vista. However, I would like to try Windows 7. In fact, I just got one from Tiger Direct the other day. I haven’t installed it yet because my husband is building me a desktop pc. This time it’s more powerful and faster. I could hardly wait to use that new computer. I am very excited about it. I hope I am gonna like the Windows 7. It’s time for me to upgrade my knowledge about pc.
