James Bond Theme Songs
James Bond “Quantum of Solace” is showing at the theaters now. I would like to watch it soon when we get time off. I really liked the “Casino Royale. The movie was a lot serious and was not mainly focused on gadgets and “women”. I thought it was the best James Bond since Sean Connery. For me, Daniel Craig is the best James Bond ever. He is the perfect character. However, I did not really care for James Bond before until I saw the new Casino Royale. But I always the theme songs – all of it. For me the best James bond theme songs (aside from the regular intro) are “Golden Eye” by Tina Turner (which I always think she’s a great singer), “For your Eyes only” by Sheena Easton and “Goldfinger” by the magnificent Shirley Bassey. What do you think is the best James Bond theme song? Here’s a list of songs:
James Bond Theme for Dr. No by John Barry
From Russia with Love by Matt Monro

Happy Halloween
I found an Indian Thriller version, which is so hilarious. I always think Thriller video was one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. That’s why I thought of posting here it because it goes with Halloween. Unfortunately, I can’t get the code. So, I decided on posting the Indian Thriller instead. Happy Halloween… Awwwoooooooo!
Studio Ghibli
Do you like Japanese Animation? I grew up watching Japanese animation. I love some Japanese animations especially the Studio Ghibli. The animation is great and incredible. It is sharp and very detailed. One of the Japanese Animations that I love is Hayao Miyasaki’s (Studio Ghibli) creations. I really love Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, and more. The first Studio Ghibli I saw was “My Princess Mononoke”. I was amazed by the creativity of the story and the animation. And then, me and my husband started collecting Studio Ghibli’s . I embedded a video from you tube– preview of Howl’s Moving Castle. Christian Bale was one of the voices of that movie. The recent Studio Ghibli animation I saw was “Ponyo”. It was great but it was not my favorite.
Shirley Bassey’s “Get The Party Started”
I came across this popular song, “Get The Party Started” on youtube. I found this wonderful and excellent Shirley Bassey’s version. I really do think her version is better than the original version by “Pink”. She makes this song sound like the “Bond” theme. I like this song a lot. For me, it’s all time song. I really like Shirley Bassey’s voice and her songs, most especially, “Goldfinger”from James Bond movie. I have known here since I was kid because my father has an album collection of her songs. Her voice doesn’t change. She popularized the songs, “Diamonds are Forever”, “I who have nothing”, “This is my life” etc. No can ever compare to her voice. She is a great Diva!!
Hayao Miyasaki’s Animation
We have a collection of some of Miyasaki’s animation here at home. One of the movies that I love most is the “Spirited Away”. This is a family movie. If you have kids, I am sure your kids would love it. You can find this at Amazon.com. If you want to drive around, you can also find this at Best Buy. My husband really loves “My Neighbor Totoro” and I like it too. Hayao Miyasaki is the prominent director of many popular animated feature films. He is also the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, an animation studio and production company. Miyazaki’s films have generally been financially successful, and this success has invited comparisons with American animator Walt Disney’s.
Jars of Clay
Jars of Clay is one of my favorite Christian bands. The band’s name is derived from the New International Version’s translation of 2 Corinthians 4:7:
“ But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us”
Flood
Rain, rain on my face
It hasn’t stopped raining for days
My world is a flood
Slowly I become one with the mud
[Chorus:]
But if I can’t swim after forty days
and my mind is crushed by the thrashing waves
Lift me up so high that I cannot fall
Lift me up
Lift me up – when I’m falling
Lift me up – I’m weak and I’m dying
Lift me up – I need you to hold me
Lift me up – Keep me from drowning again
Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean, I’m losing control
Dark sky all around
I can’t feel my feet touching the ground
[Chorus]
Calm the storms that drench my eyes
Dry the streams still flowing
Cast down all the waves of sin
And guilt that overthrow me
[Chorus]
Lift me up – when I’m falling
Lift me up – I’m weak and I’m dying
Lift me up – I need you to hold me
Lift me up – Keep me from drowning again
