Designed for portability, velocity, and security, Google Chrome OS will rely almost entirely on Web apps and cloud-based storage. For more information, check out the Chrome Web Store. Chrome OS won’t officially hit the market until mid-2011, but Google is running a pilot program where you can apply to get a CR-48, the first Chrome OS laptop. This 12.1-inch, 3G-equipped notebook comes with a Webcam, a solid-state drive, and a battery life of 8 hours; it’s likely to serve as a model for future Chrome OS-based machines.

How to fight spam using Google apps

Google has made it possible for Google Apps customers to sign their outgoing e-mail using a technology called DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) that makes it easier to ensure a sender is who he or she says he is. Google has been using DKIM since 2008 to show Gmail users when incoming mail really is from PayPal and eBay–two major brand names often caught up in spoofed e-mails used in phishing attacks. Now the technology is available more broadly and for the e-mail Google Apps users send. An e-mail signed by its sender with DKIM gets a “signed by” line in Gmail as an assurance it’s authentic.

Google Apps is the first major e-mail platform–including on-premises providers–to offer simple DKIM signing at no extra cost. As more e-mail providers around the world support DKIM signing, spam fighters will have an even more reliable signal to separate unwanted mail from good mail. E-mail authentication is an important mechanism to verify senders’ identities, giving users a tool to recognize potential spam messages. In addition, many mail systems can display whether a received message is DKIM-verified, which helps spam filters verify and assess the overall reputation of the sender’s domain: messages from untrusted senders are treated more skeptically than those from good senders.

How to make sure if a site is safe to browse?

How to make sure if a site is safe to browse? Nowadays, spyware, malware, Trojan horse, virus, etc, are really rampant in the net. I’m always careful in browsing the net especially if I do important and confidential transactions like using my credit card, paypal and stuff like that. I was glad to have free McAfee security suite from my ISP. It works really great! Today, there are many applications of e-commerce such as home banking, buying stocks, online stores and services using internet. We should be careful sending your personal information like your bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and social security number and password using any unknown site. One time, I was going to send money through online remittance like Xoom and moneygram but I was really meticulous to sign up because I have to give my social security no. for anti-money laundering purposes. I was skeptical about it so I did not pursue. I feel at peace and ease for not signing up and not giving out my detailed info to the sites that I mentioned earlier. Although, those site are secured but I am always meticulous and careful in giving out my info.

However, always use secure websites for this purpose because secure websites safe your private information from others using encryption and some authentication standards. What is Encryption? Encryption is the process of transforming and making information unreadable to unauthorized people. Decryption is the process of converting encrypted data back into its original form and make it readable. Internet Explorer and Firefox always display a small yellow lock icon on the task bar when we open any secure site and start domain name with https:// and padlock icon.

I was kind of devastated when my desktop computer’s mother board broke. However, I was glad to have extra computer, my laptop. Without my laptop, I don’t know if I can still check emails, messages, news, and do blogging and homework. When it comes to flexibility and mobility, I think laptops are way better than desktop. And I can also say that it is good to have extra computer, like a laptop. I think laptops are lightweight. I mean you can easily move it around and carry it with you and use it anywhere as long as there’s Internet connection. So, if you want to get a laptop, read some laptop reviews online first and then decide which one you would want to get based on your personal needs and preference.

The Internet has become very popular these days. I think Internet is such a great invention. You can connect and communicate with our friends, family, etc. and meet new people from around the world in just a matter of seconds. You can also gather some information on the web. You can download a file such as a songs, videos, movies, games, etc.

When we talk about routers, Linksys router is the most popular model available today. Linksys is a user-friendly way to network all of your computers together. For example, if you have two computers at home or office, a router allows two computers to receive the internet under one IP address simultaneously. An If you have a network of computers a router will allow them to use the Internet with the same access. The Internet is then passed through the router and transported to the computers either through a wire or more commonly today now through wireless technology. Moreover, the wireless routers allow you to join computers, portable computers, personal desk assistants, and printers without using wiring. Wireless routers are excellent for connecting laptop computers to the Internet.
