What is a tinyURL? TinyURL is a web service that offers short aliases for redirection of long url (Uniform Resource Locator). The TinyURL service permits and lets you to enter a long URL. It converts a long url to a short link. But the downside of it is it might bring in a potential problem. Some said that it is a dirty trick. And it is hard right away nail a link as suspicious when they mouseover a link to see where it actually goes. In other words, you cannot tell if the site or tinyurl is safe or malicious site.

To avoid being scammed, you can check the url without clicking the link. You can copy the link to the clipboard and paste it into your browser’s address bar, or you may type it in directly. Then type ‘preview’ before the address, in this case, the tinyURL becomes http://preview.www.tinyur.com/….Then hit enter to see the preview page, and you’ll see the full URL.
So, be careful with tinyURL sites.
