Blockbuster offers direct to TV

Do you rent movies? We rent movies at Blockbuster because they have movies for .99 cents good for 5 days. And sometimes, we borrow movies from the library (it’s free). Good news to Blockbuster subscribers! Blockbuster offers instant access all the way through TV sets to on-demand movies. This is in connection with the continuing development of Blockbuster’s Movielink.com. Blockbuster’s Movielink.com carries approximately 10,000 on-demand movies for download to pcs. And two thousand out of ten thousand on-demand movies can be downloaded to TVs. This is to compete with Netflix, but the only difference is the movie and the fees. In order to avail of this service, initially, subscribers must rent 25 on demand movies in advance at $99. Then after that, rentals start at $1.99 each. And the nice thing about this service is movies stay on the 2Wire MediaPoint digital media player (can be incorporated into tv by fused cable, HDMI, cable and Toslink) for 30 days. Many of the movies will be available through the Blockbuster OnDemand service after weeks of showing and leaving theaters. This is an awesome service. But only thing that I don’t like in this service is the initial fee. Subscribers will be obliged to rent 25 movies for $99. That’s a lot of money. I bet, there are people wouldn’t mind this deal.

Do you want to change your old TV?

Do you want to change your old TV? Get HDTV. We got LCD tv last year. And believe me or not, you can never go back to the CRT tv when you have LCD tv. There’s a huge difference. It looks really clear and seems like you are at a movie theater. I’d recommend LCD than Plasma. LCD tv is more clear, thin (doesn’t occupy so much space), and has higher quality resolution than plasma. So, for HDTV, LCD is the best. I looked up Buy.com today and they offer huge markdown on HDTV. Buy.com is a great place to go when it comes to electronics like HDTV. Check it out now.

Black Friday sale

I received email from one of the popular online stores, saying about their Black Friday deals. I love buying online with the convenience of my pc. They offer up to 50% off on electronics, gadgets, video games, music, toys, jewelry, clothing and a lot more. Mostly online stores offer big sale until December 1st. I bet, a lot of people will shop online instead of going to “big box stores”. If you want to buy gifts for Christmas, take advantage of the big sale. Like for example, if you need a GPS, most online stores sell it starting from $99.00. And you will be able to save up to 60% on over 550 DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. I might want to buy a cd on Black Friday. Let’s see.

I love Pandora. I can listen to various songs online while surfing the net and blogging. Pandora is an online radio service by Music Genome Project which was founded musicians and music-lovers.. You can enter your favorite songs or artists that you like, Pandora will respond by playing the selections and songs that sound similar to the songs or artists that you entered. Look at the screenshot, I entered Santana, Pandora responded Santana’s songs and other songs that sound alike to Santana. To be able to use Pandora – you have to register or sign up.

However, there are ways to respond to the songs played:

Thumbs up – Play more like this.

Each track played can be responded to in four ways:

  • Thumbs up – means “I like this song”. Play more like this
  • No response – No change in preference
  • Thumbs down – means “I don’t like this song”. Do not play this track again. It skips and proceeds to the next song

There are two subscription plans. Free subscription supported by advertisements and a fee-based subscription without ads. But I am using free subscription.  Enjoy Pandora

latest fashion in Japan

I always thought that bras are only for women but not in Japan – bras are not only for women. I learned from the news that there is a Japanese online store Wishroom shop on the Rakuten (Japan’s most popular online shopping mall) sells bras for men at 2,800 yen or $30, which can be worn subtly under men’s garments. It has been the latest fashion craze in Japan. Japan always has some weird and unique products. They have sold 300 bras within two weeks after the launching. They also sell men’s panties and lingerie women. The Wishroom representative said, “I like this tight feeling. It feels good,” Many Japanese men are becoming interested in bras. The bras are available in black, pink and white. What do you think of this product? For me, it is odd! For more information, check out: youtube
