The economy is melting…

Two artists made an ice sculpture that spelled the word “Economy” in Manhattan’s financial district last Wednesday. It weighed 1,500 lbs. It stayed for 24 hours – see photo above. Artists Nora Ligorano and Marshall Reese said “To see the word ‘economy’ melting down is representational of an extreme time”.

The sculpture was 5 feet tall, 15 feet wide and sits on a pedestal because it is the 79th anniversary of the day in 1929 when the stock market crashed, which was the “Great Depression”.
